2005 Cont'd

Prescott was never quite dry, and “best times” were not achieved by either Yve or myself. Yve managed to bury the car in the gravel at Pardon, (according to the ever helpful marshals, she just braked far too late). With almost no damage, I managed to clear out the gravel and straighten the front spoiler in the lunch break, and consequently neither of us missed a run.
The net result of the season was staggering. For the first time ever, I won the class championship, and Yve got the award for the highest placed lady in the Midland Hillclimb Championship. Small class numbers and poor luck by my fellow competitors was the main reason for our success, but the award will have pride of place on my windowsill for a long time.

2006
Plans for 2006 ? Wider wheels and stickier tyres (already sourced from my chum Mike Fisher), and a better seat to prevent us both sliding around in the cockpit. I addition, I want to get the old Triumph special out of retirement and take it to France for a French hillclimb.

I reckon that the French might enjoy my style of “hanging the tail out”, and they will never have seen a car like it as it is unique.
