Yve Rivers-Fletcher started motor racing when she met Jeremy in 1995. After helping him build the Triumph Special, she was stunned when Jeremy gave her a race suit for her birthday, as she then knew that she was going to race it. Her first event, Cornbury Park was interesting, she spun the car on the first corner in her first practice run. In the same car, she won the Classic Car class in the Paul Matty Classic Challenge Championship, and did the same last year (2004) in their Royale Fford. She loves Hillclimbing, and admits that the social side is as enjoyable as the competing. She has been a member and treasurer of the British Women Racing Drivers Club for many years, and was second in their Hillclimb championship last year and also second in their “Speed championship”... A win in either section is her current goal and 2005 has started really well with”personal bests” at Loton Park and Prescott. She is getting ever closer to Jeremy’s times. With an article about her in the book ‘Women in Motorsport since 1945’ she is proud of her achievements and hopes to continue for many years. She has two grown up daughters, and works in the accounts department of the Listers Motor Group. |
